Jessica Horaney is a Senior Engineering Manager and Technical Project Manager at Rockwell Collins. She leads multiple groups of systems and software engineers who are responsible for research, development, and certification of the avionics system for the Gulfstream G280 aircraft. She also leads the team responsible for the managing the avionics data integration database and processes. Jessica earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, as well as an MBA from the University of Iowa. She lives in Marion with her husband Joe and their three children, Dylan (15), Betty (5), and TJ (3). In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, sports, and giving back to the community. She volunteers for Imagination Iowa, Corridor Women Connect, the Rockwell Collins Women’s Forum, the United Way Women’s Leadership Initiative, Young Parents Network, and K-12 outreach programs.
Girls arrive and will see presentations from two female engineers. Plenty of parking is avaliable at the Geonetric office.
9-10amWe show the attendees how to use the tools necessary to develop an awesome website.
10-11amThis workshop teaches the basics of HTML and CSS, the building blocks of web development.
11am-12pmTake a break and enjoy a delicious lunch sponsored by Pancheros.
12-1pmHosted by two female Computer Science majors, this session is for asking questions about college life and majoring in Computer Science.
1-2pmLearn how to add animation and interactivity to a website.
2-3pm Use your newly learned skills to build an awesome personal website,
which you can take home with you and continue to work on after camp.
Present your personal website in front of our panel of judges and you could win a fabulous prize.
